THIS BLOG
Here I am, living in San Juan, PR, courtesy of the USAF. This is my 11th home in the last 20 years: seven states – three countries. I have treasured friends and family members in every time zone and I am faced with the challenge of nurturing those relationships. I can’t always capsulate my experiences in a tweet or fb status update, and it seems that mass e-mails are going the way of snail mail. So here we have it, wind inspired is an online scrapbook of my life’s adventures in art, travel, food, family, exercise and good health. Beyond my own amusements, this online record is for friends, family and all readers who find a connection in my words or photographs.
Welcome – thanks for stopping by!
THE AUTHOR
WIND – That’s me, Jacqueline Wind by birth. My first 18 years were spent in the same house in the small hamlet of Wading River, NY. The last 21 years have been an ongoing adventure through VA, CO, LA, WA, FL, AR and various locations in the UK. Now I reside on the fifth floor of a hotel, overlooking the Caribbean. As leisurely as it sounds, my days are full, spending time with my husband and 4 children, running, painting, photography, cooking…. and a few stolen moments under a palm tree with a pina colada in hand.
THE CAST OF CHARACTERS
PRINCE CHARMING – I met him at a Ball. Really. It was a blind date on April Fool’s day. He’s a pilot in the US Air Force and exactly who you’d want to be with if you were stranded on a desert island, stuck in a car during a snow storm, or stung by a swarm of bees. He is quick and calm in a crisis. When we married he knew I wanted 4 kids, didn’t iron much, and if presented with job opportunities, I would always choose the one that required the most heart and offered the least pay. He picked me anyway – he’s a keeper.
CAITLYN – My eldest (13) She is breaking us in. She is sporty and smart. She makes good choices. If only her younger siblings didn’t aggrevate her so! My worry is not about her success in life – she is very talented – but that she is so hard on herself. The poor “first child” of 2 “first child” parents. She has the birth order triple whammy. I imagine that when the college years arrive she will venture far away – just hope she knows I plan to visit, A LOT.
VICTORIA- Daughter # 2 (11) She is our social butterfly and our family fashionista. She can look you in the eye, and as you get lost in her baby blues, make you believe anything she has to say. Yes, we are predicting trouble in the future. She hopes to end up with her own tv show and if she weren’t compassionate and as smart as a whip, I would have great worries. She is funny, creative and fierce on the soccer field! The world had better watch out for this young lady.
GRACE – Daughter #3 (9) She loves to draw, paint, sew, cook – anything that involves creating something for
others to enjoy. She enjoys independent research projects and creating power point presentations. We are all well
informed on everything from Pandas to every organ in the human body. Grace has considerable athletic ability, but not an ounce of competitive drive. If it will make someone else happy to score a goal or win a race, she is glad to let them do so. She is a sweet, loveable and rather quirky.
HARRY – Son (7) I’m not sure if we are raising a future engineer or the unabomber. He scavenges nails, wood, cardboard tubes, and rope for his endless “inventions.” His room is covered in a layer of legos, dirty socks and blueprints for future projects. When he isn’t building, his time is spent in motion: soccer, running, swimming, biking, boogie boarding – and the latest, surfing. He loves school, especially science and lunch. His recent accolades include being named the “best joke teller” in kindergarten. Lord help us.

I still have no information – I have even sent photos to Art Historians and the only feedback I got was that it was a lamp – but it isn’t. What about yours?
